Remembering Nirbhaya

We all know what happened on 16th of December 2012. It’s a black day in Indian history. It’s the day, when for many, ‘humanity’ died. The entire world reacted to the ugly incident that took place in the national capital of our Country.

It’s been 2 years since the incident but the state of our nation hasn’t changed much. Everyday women are subject to such henious acts. We need a change. A change in our system. Change in our mindsets. But sadly, the change will not come in a day. It could take years for this change to come. But people are standing up against such things. And that’s a postive sign.

It was late in the night, when we just started discussing that incident. And we decided to read an elaborate report of what happened with Nirbhaya, something that gets filtered out or censored from News channels. And once we read it, it disturbed us to the core. Sleeping that night was difficult after imagining what that brave girl must have went through. That very moment we decided. We decided we will not tell people what to do or what not to do. We won’t give them any message. We decided to simply pay her our tribute, and just ‘reminding’ people about Nirbhaya. Because once you remember her and what she went through, you will not need anyone telling you anything.

Here’s our heartfelt tribute to Nirbhaya, by putting to life the images from the aftermath of the incident, and setting it to the poem written and recited by Shri Amitabh Bachchan.
